A supporter of the far-right party Jobbik, with a swastika painted on his head, attends a rally in Budapest in this October 23, 2009 file photo. The scenario is classic. Hungary's economy is in crisis, its large Roma minority is an easy scapegoat, and a far-right party blaming "Gypsy crooks" and "welfare spongers" is set to be the big winner. If opinion polls are right, the nationalist Jobbik party has a chance of becoming the second biggest party in parliament after an election on April 11 and 25, denying the centre-right favourites Fidesz a possible two-thirds majority. Hundreds of families from villages around the World War II Nazi death camp complex in Auschwitz and Birkenau are still waiting for compensation of property confiscated for the building of the camps. Around 5000 families from 8 villages were relocated to make space for the building of Auschwitz and Birkenau camps.

"The conditions of these resettlements were very tough. Some of the young people were sent as slaves- it has to be said in that way- to obligatory works in Germany, and some people were resettled on the territory of General Governance, and also to other territories." explained spokesperson for the Auschwitz Museum Jaroslaw Mensfelt.

A line of police officers separates protesters from black and white extremist groups as both sides demonstrate in Paris, Texas July 21, 2009. The demonstration was held on Tuesday to mark the day the trial would have begun in the case of Brandon McClelland, an African American who was killed last year after he was run over and dragged beneath a pickup truck. The charges against the two men accused of the crime were dropped because of a lack of evidence and the coming forward of a gravel truck driver who stated that he may have unintentionally hit someone that night.
