BEARS AT JERUSALEM ZOO EAT NEW YEAR'S CAKE 
A pair of Syrian brown bears at Jerusalem's Biblical Zoo tuck into a new year's cake donated by a local hotel September 17. The cake, made of more than 50 kilograms (110 pounds) of fruit and honey and which took more than a week to prepare, was given to celebrate the Jewish new year which began on Friday night. The Hebrew inscription wishes the bears a sweet year.
