An East Timorese woman prays in front of 400 coffins containing the
remains of East Timorese pro-independence soldiers who were killed
during the nearly 25 years of Indonesian occupation of the former
Portuguese colony in Waimori, Viqueque district 220 km (136 miles) east
of Dili August 20, 2003. The bodies of the soldiers were exhumed by the
government from three separate locations across East Timor, and will be
buried during a memorial in Waimori. President Xanana Gusmao on
Wednesday marked the 28th anniversary of the former rebel group
FALINTIL, who now make up part of East Timor's Defence Force.
