Pink flamingos are seen in the Camargue regional nature park
Pink flamingos are seen in the Camargue regional natural park, near Arles, southern France, April 12, 2015. Situated in the delta of the Rhone River on the French Mediterranean coast, classified by UNESCO, the Camargue Biosphere Reserve is made up of a mosaic of lagoons of fresh, brackish and saline wetlands, one of the most important in Europe. The Camargue covers an area of over 930 km? (360 square miles) with an exceptional biological diversity and home to unique breeds of horses and bulls, and more than 400 species of birds including pink flamingos. The marshy land could be impacted by climate changes and coastal erosion in the future as one scientific model for the year 2100 predicts the ocean level rising 50 cm above current levels, and another estimating a 1 metre level rise. Paris will host the World Climate Summit in 2015, called the COP21. Picture taken April 12, 2015. REUTERS/Jean-Paul Pelissier

A Christian pilgrim dips in the water at the baptismal site known as Qasr el-Yahud on the banks of the Jordan River, which also acts as a border line near the West Bank city of Jericho October 22, 2014. With attacks by Hezbollah from Lebanon, the threat from Islamic State and the Nusra Front in Syria and growing unrest in Egypt's Sinai, the north and south of Israel?s borders are on edge. By comparison, the eastern frontier with Jordan looks like an oasis of calm. Yet the Hashemite kingdom, wedged between Iraq, Syria and Saudi Arabia as well as Israel and the Israeli-occupied West Bank, is tackling an array of destabilising problems that its allies - in particular Israel - are watching warily. A farmer washes himself near the edge of the knee-deep Neijing River near the city of Honghu in central China's Hubei Province May 30, 2011. The river is normally many metres deep at this time of year, but local fishermen say its the lowest they have seen it in 70 years. Almost 35 million people across five provinces on the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze have been affected to different degrees by the drought, the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs said last week. Farmers said they would need generous rainfall in coming weeks, or the first of their two annual rice crops could wither and die, and more of the thousands of fish and crab farms could lose all their stock. Millions of farmers in Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi and other provinces face similar threats of damaged or even lost rice crops. Picture taken May 30, 2011.
