The baby concerts were created in 1998 by a group of musicians in Portugal inspired by the Music Learning Theory of North American author Edwin Gordon. The group wanted to give infants a first experience listening to live music in a free environment, where they can play and interact with the performers, other babies, parents and relatives. "Twelve Girls' Band" uses traditional Chinese instruments erhu, pipa and flute to combine Chinese folk music with western pop music.
