Snow Geese fly over Riefel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, British Columbia at dusk. Every autumn some 100,000 geese migrate 5,000-km back to Canada and as far south as California, from their summer home on Russia's Wrangel Island in Siberia. The geese will fly the distance in stages with their first stop on St. Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea. From there they fly to the Yukon Delta in Alaska where they will remain for several weeks feeding before continuing onto the south coast of British Columbia.
