Khadidja receives 100 Tunisian dinars ($49) a month as social support from the local government. "Lack of employment, security and poverty have pushed our men to leave Sra Ouertane for the big cities to look for work. Before the 2011 revolution, we could buy a lot with 100 dinars, but not now. Also, the area used to be secure, but now we are facing a lack of security too. Most of the houses are empty. The owners left to look for a better life", Khadidja said. REUTERS/Zohra Bensemra

My country has invested only on tourism and I think it was an error from the beginning though Tunisia possesses other potentials. I lost all hope, I could not even continue my studies, I could not finance them is really difficult to find a job. How can I have a hope for myself when I don't see any in my own country". "The economic and political situation in my country is bad, in five years no right decision has been taken, our economy has much regressed after the terrorists' attacks. All foreigners are fleeing the country. the state must find a solution for all our problems. We devoted years of our lives to study with hope to serve our country but we ended unemployed, it's unacceptable. Young people are desperate, some of them think to leave the country, others to terrorists groups, this is unacceptable also. I feel that the stability of the old days is far away". Nasser said.
