FIRST FEMALE GUARD TAKES UP DUTY AT TOMB OF UNKNOWN SOLDIER IN ARLINGTON
Sgt. Heather Lynn Johnson (R) takes up duty March 22 as the first woman in history to stand as sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in Arlington National Cemetery. Johnson, 23, from Mt. Diablo, California, is a military police officer attached to Echo company honour guard, 3rd U.S. Infantry Division, one of the Army's most elite units.
