Taiwanese soldiers line up in front of their M48H tanks before taking part in a military exercise in the northern town of Hukou March 18 as the defence ministry put on a show of its own military might displaying manoeuvres involving about 60 tanks, 100 armoured personnel carriers and live-firing. Taiwan said on Monday it had detected no sign of China's new war games in the Taiwan Strait.
