AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS STARE A RADAR
Air traffic controllers in Taiwan stare at a radar screen March 6 to check that all is normal. China's planned missile tests from March 8 to 15 in two sea areas near this island will disrupt air traffic and cause diversions, airlines said. The missile tests are aimed at reducing support for President Lee Teng-hui in March 23 elections. Beijing says that Lee is plotting independence for the island it regards as its own province.
