The French Agriculture Ministry confirmed today, it was banning imports of British beef and live cattle after the British government announced yesterday that scientists had now found a likely link between B.S.E (Madcow disease) and its fatal human equivalent Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). Hogg said the French decision was "unreasonable and unnecessary".
