Prime Minister John Major holds his hand to his mouth during a visit to a village hall as part of his election campaign March 27. Commenting on allegations in today's papers surrounding Tory MP Piers Merchant, Major said Merchant "will want to explain the stories in this mornings press to his constituents and others".
