The 1996 Indy 500 winner Buddy Lazier climbs into his back-up car May 14 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Lazier, who has qualified his primary car for the May 25 Indy 500, posted the fastest practice lap of the day in the back-up with a speed of 216.570 miles per hour. The speed is faster than the 214.286 he posted to qualify.
