Philippine President Fidel Ramos inspects an honour guard during the 50th anniversary of the Philippine Air Force at its headquarters in Manila July 1. Ramos who was guest speaker commended the air force for its role as a "flying peacemaking machine" in the last 50 years. He assured the air force that it will be a major recipient of resources as part of the massive modernisation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
