THE PRINCE OF WALES INSIGNIA IS REMOVED FROM HONG KONG BARRACKS
The Prince of Wales' Royal emblem is blowtorched by a Chinese worker June 29 as it is removed during the British forces' last stages of withdrawal from the barracks before their June 30 departure. The barracks will be handed to the Chinese army in a simple ceremony on the stroke of midnight June 30, as Britain's last armed forces march off and a new garrison of Chinese troops move in.
