INTERIOR MINISTRY SOLDIER GUARDS LUXURY CARS IN SOFIA
A Bulgarian Interior Ministry soldier guards luxury limousines which have been impounded for inspection after a mass police raid to crack down on the trade in stolen cars March 27. Bulgarian Interior Minister Bogomil Bonev said March 28 that in Sofia alone, police assigned to "Operation Mosquito" had escorted 600 Mercedes, 3,000 Audis and more than 1,000 BMW's and other four-wheel-drive cars to a barracks for checks that the cars were legally owned and taxes and custom duties paid.
