UNITED NATIONS MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR DENG AND JAGAN
United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan (L) and General Assembly President Ismail Razali observe a moment of silence in the General Assembly at the United Nations in New York on March 12, in memory of Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping and Guyanese leader Cheddi B. Jagan. The observation was held before before the start of debate over Israeli plans for a new Jewish neighborhood in mainly Arab East Jerusalem.
