FORMER MINISTER BLEEDING AFTER BEING INJURED DURING STRIKE IN DHAKA
Former home minister Abdul Matin Chowdhury, bleeding after being hit by a stone during the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led general strike in Dhaka March 23, covers his head in pain. Matin was leading pickets while the stone pelted by unidentified activists slammed on his head. The BNP, led by former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia, says the strike is first major attempt to shake the "corrupt and inefficient" government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
