FIRST PLANE LANDS AT HONG KONG'S NEW AIRPORT
A Hong Kong government flying service Super King airplane taxis lands for the first time at the territory's Chek Lap Kok airport, scheduled to be completed in April 1998. The government aircraft carried officials onto the southern runway, and marked the preparation for future tests of the instrument landing system at the US$20.3 billion airport.
