William Carroll, Public Relations spokesman for the Ford Motor Assembly Plant, tells reporters March 17 the company will discontinue the passenger car system at their plant here in Lorain. It will take place later this year and will affect about 2,500 employees. In addition to killing off the current Thunderbird and Cougar mid-size coupes, Ford said it will discontinue the Probe sport coupe and the Aerostar minivan this summer.
