THE CHARGE D'AFFAIRES OF THE US EMBASSY IN RANGOON KENT WIEDERMANN
The charge d'affaires of the U.S embassy in Rangoon Kent Wiedermann (C) answers journalists at the end of a news conference held by the ruling State Law and Order Restoration Council (SLORC) February 1. Burma's military government said roads leading to opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi's home would stay closed until it was clear there was no further threat to her personal security. Wiedermann said SLORC was using security as an excuse to curb Suu Kyi's political activities.
