ALEX RIGANO OBSERVES A PLATYPUS IN THE NEW SYDNEY AQUARIUM TANK
Alex Rigano from the Sydney Aquarium centre watches a native Australian Platypus swim around a new enclosure December 23. The centre is hoping with the new soundproof tank, it can successfully breed the rare and threatened species. The platypus and Australian echidna are the only "monotremes" in the world, being mammals which lay eggs like birds and reptiles.
