PACIFIC ISLAND'S PRESIDENT TALKS TO REPORTERS IN KYOTO
Nauru President Kinza Clodumar talks to reporters inbetween sessions at the United Nations global warming conference at Kyoto International Conference Hall December 9. The South Pacific island nation's president said rising seas swollen by melting polar icecaps now threaten his people who live on a coastal fringe just two metres above sea level. "Island countries are on the front lines of the global climate catastrophe... the crime is cultural genocide," he said.
