MALAYSIAN FIREFIGHTERS TEST NEW EQUIPMENT TO COMBAT SMOG
Malaysian fire-fighters wearing new protective clothing demonstrate new equipment to combat forest fires in Kuala Lumpur September 26. More than 1,000 Malaysian fire-fighters have gone to Indonesia to help put out forest fires which have caused Malaysia to be engulfed in thick haze for the past two weeks. Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia and southern Philippines and parts of Indonesia archipelago have been enveloped in the smoky haze caused by the burning of huge tracks of bush and forest in Sumatra and the Indonesian half of Borneo island.
