Japanese climber Hiroshi Onoue speaks to reporters in the northern Pakistani town of Skardu on August 23 as he gives details of an accident on Tuesday in which six Japanese climbers were killed when they were hit by an avalanche at a 5,300-metre (17,400-foot) high base camp. Eight members of the 16-member expedition had scaled the 7,360-metre (24,140-foot) Skilbrum peak in the Karakoram range on August 17.
