ANGELS PHILLIPS SCORES IN FIRST GAME AFTER HIS SUSPENSION WAS OVERTURNED
Anaheim Angels Tony Phillips is congratulated August 21 after scoring in the first inning of his first game back since the Angels supended him following an August 10 arrest on a felony charge of cocaine possession. An independent arbitrator ordered the team to reinstate Phillips to the active roster, ruling on August 20 that the Angels had violated baseball rules in suspending him. Phillips scored on a single by teammate Darin Erstad.
