South Korean environmental activists, standing behind effigies of both the Taiwan flag and Taiwan President Lee Teng-hui, hold signs and shout slogans condemning the island nation in central Seoul January 25. About 30 activists gathered to protest Taiwan's plan to dispose of its nuclear waste in North Korea. South Korea has asked the U.S. to exert influence over Taiwan to cancel its nuclear waste storage deal with communist North Korea.
