PALESTINIANS HOLD TORCH IN DEHAISHE DEMO MARKING AL NAKBA.
Palestinians at Dheisheh refugee camp lighting a torch May 13 to commemorate what they call the "Nakba" or "Great Catastrophe" of Israel's creation in May 1948. The torch represents the refugee camps which absorbed hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who fled or were forced to flee when Israel was created 50 years ago. Next to the torch is a map of historical Palestine and a key symbolising the houses that Palestinians once owned in what is now Israel.
