Gerhard Schroeder, social democratic prime minister of Lower Saxony and challenger of German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, and his wife Doris Schroeder-Koepf stand next to the so-called "table for Gerhard Schroeder" created by 24 artists in a museum in Hanover September 13. The art award "Aus gegebenem Anlass" was given this year to German painter and film-maker Juergen Boettcher.
