Giro d'Italia race leader Italian Marco Pantani speeds to a 3th place finish in the 34-km time-trial 21th stage of the race of June 6. Ukrainian Serguei Gontchar won the stage with time of 39 minutes and 54 seconds while Marco Pantani retained the over-all race lead.
