POLICE CHECK IDS OF DHAKA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS.
Police check the identity cards of Dhaka University students as they return to dormitories May 7, one week after being flushed out by political rivals during a campus gunfight. Those driven out from the living quarters were supporters of the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), headed by former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia. University authorities later brokered an agreement with pro-government students, which provided for the return under strict monitoring by police.
