Douglas of USA wrestling team holds up portrait in Iran
U.S. silver medalist wrestler Melvin Douglas of Mesa, Arizona, upholds a portrait of Iranians' religious leader Ayatollah Khamanei during 97 kg (213lbs) category medal ceremony at the Azadi sports hall while he was applauded by Iranian spectators February 20. Douglas lost the final to Iranian wrestler Abbas Jadidi. Members of an American amateur free style wrestling team competed in the Takhti Cup tournament in Iran on February 19. This is the first time an American sports team travels to Iran since the Islamic revolution in 1979.
