HOMELESS SOUTH KOREAN MAN DISPLAYS ID IN SEOUL.
Unemployed South Korean Kwan Young-tae, 45, displays an identification card which states he is homeless in Seoul September 18. Issued by the British-based Befrienders International, these cards are considered to be beneficial to the country's destitute. In Korea, not having the proper identification frequently leads to detainment by the police and as most homeless people have either lost or had their conventional identification stolen, this "homeless" identification card, now being accepted as ID by the police, keeps many of the poor out of jail.
