LEADERS OF SOUTH ASIAN NATIONS WALK TO THEIR MEETING IN BENTOTA.
Leaders of the seven-nation South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) walk to a meeting at a seaside resort in Bentota July 30 after arriving there to continue their talks. The leaders are (L-R) Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, President of the Maldives, Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Lyonpo Jigmi Yoeser Thinley, head of the government of the Royal Government of Bhutan. Girija Prasad Koirala, the Prime Minister of Nepal is out of the picture.
