PAKISTANI SECURITY REMOVE BARRICADES FROM THE STREETS OF TROUBLED PORT CITY OF KARACHI.
Pakistan rangers watch the removal of a barricade in the Korangi area of Karachi July 22. The barricades were raised by criminals to prevent government vehicles from moving into their strongholds. The security force removed barricades and hurdles from the streets after a provincial government spokesman said last week that a search for the 181 most wanted persons will begin soon in the city. At least 70 people have been killed this month which police blame on factional infighting between rival ethnic groups. More than 600 people have been killed in Karachi this year in ethnic, sectarian and political violence.
