STUDENTS PROTEST AGAINST RACISM IN MELBOURNE.
High school student Anja Honisett (C) leads a group of Melbourne students in protesting against politician Pauline Hanson's policies at a rally in central Melbourne June 25. The One Nation party, which Hanson heads, advocates a reduction in Asian migration and has won the support of about a quarter of voters in a recent election in the state of Queensland. Political commentators speculate the party could hold the balance of power in the country's senate if a federal election was called soon. Students have pledged to organise high school walkouts whenever Hanson visits Melboourne.
