Brooke Bennett from the United States in action during the women's 800 metres freestyle final at the world swimming championships in Perth January 17. Seventeen-year-old Bennett won the gold medal in eight minutes 28.71 seconds, followed by 15-year-old fellow American Diana Munz and Kirsten Vlieghuis of the Netherlands.
