ENDEAVOUR STREAKS SKYWARD OVER A MERCURY MONUMENT BOUND FOR MIR
The space shuttle Endeavour lifts off from the Kennedy Space Center January 22 and is shown in a time exposure as it rises over a monument to those who worked on Project Mercury. The monument bears the handprints of Mercury astronaut John Glenn who was the first American to orbit the earth. He has been again selected for space flight, for shuttle Mission STS-95, scheduled for October.
