FORMER HONG KONG GOVERNOR PATTEN SIGNS BOOKS AT SYDNEY STORE.
Hong Kong's last British colonial Governor Chris Patten (L) hands back a copy of his controversial book titled "East and West" during a signing session at a Sydney store October 20. The book says the West should stop kowtowing to Beijing and speak up against its human rights abuses, which has resulted in Patten being lambasted as a "China-hating Cold War warrior" by the pro-China media. Patten is on a three-day visit to Australia to promote his book. Hong Kong was reabsorbed by China last year.
