A fireman douses a burning newstand at Paris's Place de la Nation Oct 15 as tens of thousands of students took part in a demonstration through central Paris to protest the lack of educational facilties. Hooligans, taking advantage of the large number of otherwise peaceful students, burned cars and looted stores.
