Blooming fruit trees are sprayed with water to protect the trees from
unexpected night frost, April 9, 2003. By spraying water on the trees, a
tiny layer of ice forms on the flowers and thus protects the tree from
unexpected, extreme weather. The chairman of the NFO (translated: Dutch
fruits growers association stated that this method will only protect the
trees if the temperature does not go below eight celsius. NO RIGHTS CLEARANCES OR PERMISSIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS IMAGE
