Blooming fruit trees are sprayed with water to protect the trees from
unexpected night frost, April 9, 2003. By spraying water on the trees, a
tiny layer of ice forms on the flowers and thus protects the tree from
unexpected, extreme weather. The chairman of the NFO (translated: Dutch
fruits growers association stated that this method will only protect the
