A BABY CHIMPANZEE NICKNAMED SAIDIA WHICH MEANS HELP IN KISWAHILI
ARRIVES AT NAIROBI'S WILSON AIRPORT....
A baby chimpanzee nicknamed 'Saidia', which means 'Help' in Kiswahili,
arrives at Nairobi's Wilson Airport after being rescued from southern
Sudan by wildlife workers late October 15, 2003. Despite laws against
the killing of wild animals and trade in endangered species, the
ongoing conflict in Sudan and neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo
makes it almost impossible for authorities to enforce the laws. The
rescue of Help and five other chimpanzees was conducted after
authorities in southern Sudan sought Kenya's assistance in resettling
the orphaned chimps. REUTERS/Antony Njuguna
