POLICE TAPE MARKS THE SITE WHERE DR KELLY'S BODY WAS FOUND NEAR OXFORD
AHEAD OF HIS FUNERAL.
British police tape marks the entrance to woodland on August 5, 2003,
where British government scientist Dr David Kelly's body was found on
Harrowdown Hill near Southmoor in Oxfordshire. Britain's Prime Minister
Tony Blair's official spokesman Tom Kelly admitted on Tuesday smearing
Dr Kelly, whose funeral takes place on August 6 and whose suicide over
the case for war in Iraq sparked the worst crisis in Blair's
premiership. Tom Kelly acknowledged that he had made comments in an
off-the-record briefing comparing the scientist with fictional
fantasist Walter Mitty, a character with delusions of grandeur created
by U.S. author James Thurber, just hour's before the expert's funeral.
