AN ALBANIAN WELCOMES KOSOVO ALBANIANS IN KUKES.
An Albanian man wearing national costume welcomes more than 10,000
Kosovo Albanians at a soccer stadium in the Albanian town of Kukes,
April 16, 2002. The ethnic Albanians set off from Kosovska Mitrovica on
Monday, retracing their steps when they fled three years ago to the
site of former refugee camps in Kukes, Albania via the Kosovo town of
Prizren. During the 78-day NATO-led bombing campaign against Yugoslavia
around 500,000 ethnic Albanians from Kosovo fled to Albania in fear of
repression by the Serbian security forces. REUTERS/Hazir Reka
