Albanian artist Strati, poses in front of a horse mosaic made from toothpicks in Tirana
Albanian artist Saimir Strati, 41, poses in front of a horse mosaic made from toothpicks at the International Center of Culture in Tirana September 4, 2007. The image of a horse created with more than half a million toothpicks in homage to Antoni Gaudi earned Strati a second entry in the Guinness Book of Records on Tuesday. Strati spent 13 hours a day for 40 days on the mosaic measuring two by four metres in a technique resembling digital camera pixels, using either sharpened or blunt ends of oak, poplar and bamboo toothpicks.
