Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika holds a dove aloft that was released as he walked amongst crowds, June 21, 2001. Bouteflika was visiting the city of Wilaya d`Adrar in the remote Saharan region of the nomadic Touareg people some 1,600 kms south of the capital Algiers. Bouteflika said he would continue his mandate despite continuing violence in Algeria.
