BUENOS AIRES BUTCHER'S SHOP WITH SALE SIGNS.
A resident of the Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Boca leaves a butcher
shop with sale signs confirming that the price of beef hasn't increased
in spite of the currency devaluation expected to be approved by the
Senate, January 6, 2002. Argentina's Congress pushed closer to allowing
the devaluation as it's upper house debated the approval of sweeping
powers for new President Eduardo Duhalde to overhaul the economy to
turn around deepening recession. The upper sign reads, "No increase for
beef." REUTERS/Andres Stapff
