ARGENTINE PRESIDENT DUHALDE SPEAKS BEFORE BUSINESS AND UNION LEADERS.
Argentine President Eduardo Duhalde speaks to business and union
leaders at the Olivos presidential residence, January 4, 2002.
Argentina confirmed it will devalue its peso currency and said it will
create a dual exchange rate system in a bid to rescue the country's
economy from meltdown. He urged shopkeepers not to increase prices,
amid fears of further outbreaks of the rioting that brought down
president Fernando de la Rua and his interim successor. REUTERS/Andres
