and looks out of a cage in Kabul's zoo January13, 2002. A team of
animal rights activists have arrived in Afghanistan to try to improve
the plight of dozens of neglected, hungry and traumatised inmates of
the country's only zoo. The world's zoo community had raised thousands
of dollars to improve Kabul Zoo and aslo provide veterinarian services
for Afghan livestock, said John Walsh, International Projects Director
