Two columns of light intended to resemble the World Trade Center towers
rise from a site next to "ground zero" in New York on March 11, 2002,
marking the passing of six months since the September 11 attacks. The
"Tribute in Light," created by two groups of 44 searchlights, will be
displayed nightly until April 13. The Empire State Building is at left.
